About Alabama tides
The northern Gulf runs small, mostly diurnal tides — often just one high and one low a day — where wind and river flow routinely outvote the moon.
Alabama has 23 NOAA tide stations — 19 reference stations whose predictions come from harmonic analysis of observations there, and 4 subordinate stations calculated from them. The biggest tidal range in the state is at Lower Bryant Landing — 1.8 ft between mean higher high water and mean lower low water.
